Hi, I am Debbie Hoffman

In high school, I chose an elective class in photography. By far my favorite class along with horticulture.

This was back in the days of black and white film that we developed ourselves along with processing our own printing in the darkroom. This was going to be my career, but I needed to live a lifetime before realizing my dream.

Enter the digital camera. At first, I wouldn't allow myself to even try it. It didn't seem like real photography. It was too "easy." But I was wrong. It was fabulous, no limitations. It was like a scoop of vanilla ice cream only with hot fudge and whipped cream on top. Everything I had learned was still true but there was so much more. Color and creativity and so many possibilities.

When I was 16, I found photography and the redemptive love of Jesus Christ. Both have shaped my world into who I am today. Through the lens I see beauty and truth and life. When I photograph people, I tell their story. I share a significant moment and capture it on film and preserve it for a lifetime.
